
Raw chocolate treats

Raw chocolate bites with lots of goodness
Ingredients
Peanut butter | 1/2 cup |
Brown granulated sugar | 1/3 cup |
Molasses | 2 tablespoons |
Cocoa butter | 1 cup |
Vanilla essence | 1 teaspoon |
Oats | 2 cups |
Desiccated coconut | 1 cup |
Cocoa powder | 1/4 cup |
Macca powder | 1/4 cup |
Dark chocolate | 100g |
Milk | A few tablespoons |
Method
1 | In a pan gently melt the peanut butter, brown sugar, molasses, cocoa butter and vanilla essence. As soon as the cocoa butter is melted take the pan off the heat; the idea being that some of the brown sugar will not have dissolved leaving crystals of sugar which has a lovely effect. |
2 | In a bowl combine the oats, desiccated coconut, cocoa and macca powder. |
3 | Pour the peanut butter mixture into the oats and mix thoroughly. |
4 | Press into a suitable bowl or tin and put into the freezer. |
5 | In a pan gently heat the chocolate and milk. Once melted pour over the cocoa treats and spread evenly. |
6 | Put back into the freezer. Once set leave to defrost and cut into squares. Store in the freezer. Serve defrosted. |
